Upper Lip Wrinkles And How To Fight Them
Tuesday, March 13th, 2012
Our faces change through the decades due to the aging process. The areas of the face in which we start noticing these effects earlier are the eyes and the lips. Upper lip wrinkles can really make you look old, but at the same time lip wrinkles are easy to prevent or diminish with the proper skin care.
To take care of this area is important to protect no just the lips but the skin surrounding them. Use a lip balm with sunscreen to keep the lips hydrated and to protect them from external factors. Apply sunscreen every day on your face and neck and don’t forget the skin around the lips.
Is a good idea to use a scrub once a week to invigorate the lips. For a natural scrub mix a bit of sugar with olive oil and rub it over the lips for one minute. Then, rinse off and apply a lip product.
To avoid and prevent upper lip wrinkles the use of facial exercises is also effective. Although the effects of facial exercises varies from person to person in my opinion they can really help to improve the effects of aging skin. Practice the following exercise once or twice daily. Open your mouth forming an “O”, then stretch the sides of your face upwards with both hands and at the same time try to smile as far as you can. Repeat twenty times.
The loss of collagen and the constant repetition of the same movements contribute to the formation of wrinkles around the lips. Bearing this in mind, another thing to avoid is smoking. The constant sucking when smoking will leave a mark on the skin around the lips in the form of wrinkles.
To combat wrinkles around the lips some people resort to professional treatments including dermal fillers such as Restylane and laser skin resurfacing.
Fighting lip wrinkles should be an important step towards your skin rejuvenation program.
