Plasma And The HDTV Revolution

Friday, June 16th, 2006

The biggest development in the technology of television since the inception of color TV is considered to be these convenient, flat screen televisions that display sharp, clear images. Plasma and HDTV is a technology combination to watch.
Plasma televisions are one of the newest and most creative innovations in home entertainment today. In fact many people when talking about plasma screens say that the quality of the images is both richer and more “cinematic” than other types of televisions.

Flat Screen Televisions:

Flat screen televisions are advertised for having a vastly superior quality picture than CRT TVs, and it’s true. The resolution of flat screen televisions is pretty outstanding, and they are all high definition capable. The technology for flat screen televisions is nothing new, but it has recently been perfected to the point where it makes a viable and even superior alternative to CRT TVs.

Widescreen Televisions Enhance Movie Watching

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

The problem with trying to watch films on conventional televisions is that the aspect ratio for movie screens and the aspect ratio for televisions are vastly different. A movie screen projects images on a rectangle shaped screen, as we are all familiar with. Often times the width of the movie screen is two times larger than the height. A standard television set obviously does not have the same set up.

Do you really need a 42″ Plasma TV?

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

One of the best parts of having a 42 plasma tv is the realism of watching it – it’s like you’re actually there in the heat, making tackles and calling plays, or maybe involved in a steamy romance on a soap opera, or launching cruise missles at the enemies of freedom all around the world.

Before my 42 plasma tv, I had a standard 17 tv. It was okay, I mean I could make out what was on the screen, and actually thought I was getting a pretty good picture, but boy I didn’t know what I wal missing out on.

Nothing says classic Hollywood movie theater like wall sconces. If this is the type of effect you are trying to achieve in your home theater space, consider using wall sconces to heighten the drama of the room. Online Gamblers

Saturday, June 10th, 2006

I know a lot of gamblers who would immediately dismiss any betting system as useless before they even review how it works. But you’d be doing yourself a huge disservice by engaging in online casino gambling without arming yourself with some kind of strategy first. You see, online casino gambling differs from traditional gaming establishments in a very important way: they sometimes offer slightly better odds or free credits to induce you to play on their websites.

Home Theater System

Monday, May 29th, 2006

My wife and I did a recent stroll through these electronic superstores simply to get an idea of what we would end up paying for a nice home theater system such as a 50 inch flat panel to stick up on the wall. While the prices are still up there, they’re nothing like they were five years back.

LCD TV- Efficient Cinema Quality

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

The reason LCD TV screens can be so flat and efficient, is because it does not have a cathode ray tube like a normal TV. A cathode ray tube, or CRT, is basically a gun that shoots out electrons at high speed at the surface of a normal TV. These electrons hit a surface that fluoresces, giving you a pixel on the screen.

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

Purchasing a home theater as a gift is a perfect alternative to the humdrum presents we give one another for special occasions. Instead of just adding to what we already have, a home theater system literally creates brand new opportunities for ongoing entertainment. It is a gift that really does keep on giving with each broadcast of a dearly loved favorite and every new release that filters out to retailers.

Article about As Seen On TV Products

A ton of money goes into branding, obviously.  The commercials at Super Bowl time will tell you this.  More money goes into what is called product placement: technically, a sitcom or series does not make visible any product name not being endorsed.  That is, for example, consider the show that features a kid crying over a bad time in school the day before.  Mom comes to the table, where the kid is eating—or trying to eat breakfast—to find out why he is so reluctant to go to school this morning.

Article about As Seen On TV

As seen on tv products are basically products that have been show cased or featured in an infomercial at some point. As seen on tv means that they were shown on tv in all of their so called remarkable, revolutionary, and time saving innovation. I say “so called,” because, although some of these as seen on tv products are really kind of nifty if not exactly out right revolutionary, many of them are just stupid, pointless gizmos which won’t help with anything or save you any time.

Martha Stewart - Series

Friday, May 19th, 2006

I found that I learned quite a bit about Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, the corporation behind most of Stewart’s business ventures. I heard about how the company was founded, discovered some of the basic philosophies that the executives embrace, and got a peek into a bit of the corporate culture. As viewers, we also got to see a side of Martha Stewart that not many people in the business world get to see. For example, members of the winning team for each task were given rewards. Some of the rewards included hanging out with Martha at one of her many homes in the New York area. So a few of the candidates got to go horseback riding with her, play Scrabble with her, and even eat a homemade breakfast with her. After watching the series, I had a whole different opinion of Martha Stewart and the MSLO Corporation, which, I suppose was the point of the show. After all, both entities had suffered from some seriously negative publicity in the months leading up to the premier of The Apprentice.

Flat Screen Televisions

Monday, May 8th, 2006

An article about flat screen televisions.

Flat screen televisions are like pagan religious symbols to all that is good and holy about postindustrial life in America. Well, maybe replace the words good and holy with fun and diverting. Either way, I find myself feeling the strange desire to kneel and pray every time I pass a flat screen television in a store. Flat screen televisions are simply awe-inspiring devices. How does the image fit in such a thin device? It just baffles me.

The great thing about flat screen television isn’t just the superior picture quality, but the sheer convenience of such a lightweight television. The one thing I’ve always hated about my large screen televisions of the older CRT variety is that they require a crane and/or team of starving college students to move. Flat screen televisions make owning a big TV not only great for viewing purposes, but easy to move around as well. And of course flat screen televisions take up a heck of a lot less space as well. You don’t have to devote a whole chunk of a room to your TV anymore, you can just mount it on your wall.

Currently there are two main providers of satellite TV services: DishNetwork and DirecTV. While both providers off a lot of features in common (and one can argue that they blow cable tv away) there are some differences.

The price points are a little different, as are installed packages, how much stuff you get for free, and so on.

Advertising Agencies, and Advertising Awards…

Advertising Agencies, and Advertising Awards

For most outsiders, advertising awards are basically a self-aggrandizing occasion that advertising agencies indulge in. In some case, they are not unjust. Deep within the advertising industry. Advertising awards are seen with some disdain by a few agencies, while others go all out to demand and treasure their advertising awards.

Acting Auditions Be Prepared

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

First Impressions are Lasting Impressions.

In show business, the first impression can sometimes be the last impression. Producers, directors and casting directors are busy people.

The deciding factor in giving an unknown (or even an experienced actor whose opportunities have been limited) a chance toread for a part is often based on first impressions.
It’s up to you to know how to handle yourself during an interview: how to be at ease, and how to be well poised. How to sell yourself; how not to oversell yourself.

Acting How They Got Started!

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

If you think that you need to be the most beautiful, dashing, or well spoken individual to make it as an actor maybe you think again!

In 1947, there was no Rock Hudson.

But there was a Roy Fitegerald, who worked in his father’s electrical-appliance store and at other odd jobs after getting out of the Navy.

In a period of transition he worked co-operatively with the perceptive agent who saw exciting possibilities in him, and he worked with the late great coach Sophie Rosenstein, of Universal-International Studios. In short, he worked, worked, WORKED twenty-four hours a day to become the Rock Hudson of today.
Stardom Has No Physical Limitations.

Spencer Tracy is short on stature but long on stellar power. So are Alan Ladd and James Cagney.
John Wayne, Gary Cooper and Gregory Peck tower over the six-foot mark-and hit the six-figure mark in salary.

Plasma Television

An article about Plasma Television

This is where newer display technologies have resulted in better, modern televisions like the plasma television. In a plasma television, the older cathode ray tube technology is left behind in favor of an atomic technology. Our ability to manipulate and control the behavior of atomic particles has also enables us to enhance our viewing experience. This is the technology that a plasma television uses. A plasma, is a gas that contains freely flowing ions and electrons. When an electric charge is passed through this plasma, photons are released, which then provide illumination. The rest of the technology in plasma televisions is concentrated on using this illumination to create the three primary colors and to display them as images.

Pay Per View

An article about Pay Per View

I love the pay per view concept. It’s already getting to be more and more popular, and this excites me. I can’t wait until I have access to any movie I could ever want with just the push of a button and a $3.95 charge to my credit card. No late fees, no trip to the video store, just a mild thumb exercise that’s over before you know it and then wham, its movie time.
