Stars of Lost In Space

Friday, July 4th, 2008

This is not a straightforward mission, however, as they have an uninvited guest on board. Psychologist Dr Zachary Smith (Jonathan Harris) was intent on sabotaging the spaceship, only to become trapped on board with the others. The extra payload of having Smith interferes with the ship’s systems and the mission goes off course. Several guests appeared on Lost in Space, including some actors that would go on to be major stars. They included Michael J.Pollard, Kurt Russell and Daniel J. Travanti.
The complete series is available on DVD for fans that want to go down memory lane and for a new generation that missed it on TV. In addition to showing every episode, there are extras containing interviews with cast members and bloopers.

Time Saving Features Of Digital Cable Boxes

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

One of the best features that have come with new digital cable boxes is the ability to record hours of programming right on the box. You don’t need a VCR or a DVD player to do so, though you would need one of those if you wish to save it forever. Some digital cable boxes can record up to 40 or 80 hours of programming, and some have much more than that. The only problem with this type of recording is that cable boxes sometimes need to be reset, and if that happens, you may lose what you have saved on there. You should still save anything important to DVD if possible so you are sure you don’t lose it.

Your new digital cable boxes also allow you to order movies right from your television, and you don’t have to pick up a phone to make a payment. You can make it right through your television cable connection. You also have the ability to get HDTV service through your box if you have a compatible television set.

Be Amazed by the Growth of High-Definition Tellies

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

Television or TV as we abbreviate it to is an international used telecommunications means for transporting & delivering moving images and audio, or as we more typically know it as, television programmes. Commercially obtainable since the nineteen thirty’s the television set has turned into being a universal home connections tool in homes and firms, predominately as a foundation of amusement & gossip. Ever since the nineteen seventies video recording on VCR tapes & later, digital playback devices for instance DVDs have given the ability for the telly to be used to look at pre-taped news television & other channels.

Telly devices are built out of a number of parts so a screen that requires an interior tuner to get the broadcast signals is identified as a monitor instead of a TV. Given that the future is here, tellies have progressed on to some extent and technology has advanced, TVs today are constructed to receive numerous television broadcasts or video set-ups such as high definition televisions generally referred to as HDTV. Near the beginning when High-Definition Tellies were 1st purchased they were very costly, nonetheless, in recent times its feasible to come upon low-cost TV’s from most high street stores. For instance a 37” plasma television might have once have set you back in cash one-thousand pounds it is these days likely to acquire one up for much lower than this, you will spot that largely LCD widescreens tellies have lowered very much in price when weighed to a few years ago. Enjoy an electonics bargain today with Digital Direct’s bargain televisions!

There are 2 sorts of tellies now, plasma and LCD both are very similar although, extremely dissimilar as well. Plasma is a breed of flat panel screen that you will on the whole only see on big telly screens, which basically implies that you will not be able to buy plasma televisions in anything smaller than a thirty-seven inch. Plasma screens in there most basic form are just gas canisters. You then have LCD displays which you can acquire in numerous different sizes & they can also be used as PC desktop VDUs.

Widescreen Televisions Enhance Movie Watching

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

The problem with trying to watch films on conventional televisions is that the aspect ratio for movie screens and the aspect ratio for televisions are vastly different. A movie screen projects images on a rectangle shaped screen, as we are all familiar with. Often times the width of the movie screen is two times larger than the height. A standard television set obviously does not have the same set up.

Media Advertising, A Guide for Home Based Business Owners

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

If you want to advertise in a newspaper or magazine, you must decide between the two types of advertising available in those media. Classified ads are the small ads in the back of a publication, while display ads can be of many sizes and are usually distributed throughout the publication. They can take up a whole page or just a corner of a page. Some display ads even extend across two pages in what is called the double-page spread. If you find a publication that you would like to advertise in, check out its web site to see what the advertising rates are. This is generally in a ‘rate card’ section. You may also call the advertising department to ask for rate information. You will probably be surprised at how much print advertising can cost. It is extremely expensive, and for most home-based businesses, it just isn’t cost-effective. A good approach to print advertising is to check out niche and trade magazines. There are many magazines in print, and they cover just about any topic you can think of. You just need to find the magazine for people who are interested in the services or products you provide. The costs of advertising in niche or trade magazines will be much less expensive than placing an ad in a publication meant for a general audience. You are more likely to get responses to such ads as well. Media advertising…

Do you really need a 42″ Plasma TV?

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

One of the best parts of having a 42 plasma tv is the realism of watching it – it’s like you’re actually there in the heat, making tackles and calling plays, or maybe involved in a steamy romance on a soap opera, or launching cruise missles at the enemies of freedom all around the world.

Before my 42 plasma tv, I had a standard 17 tv. It was okay, I mean I could make out what was on the screen, and actually thought I was getting a pretty good picture, but boy I didn’t know what I wal missing out on.

LCD TV- Efficient Cinema Quality

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

The reason LCD TV screens can be so flat and efficient, is because it does not have a cathode ray tube like a normal TV. A cathode ray tube, or CRT, is basically a gun that shoots out electrons at high speed at the surface of a normal TV. These electrons hit a surface that fluoresces, giving you a pixel on the screen.

Martha Stewart - Series

Friday, May 19th, 2006

I found that I learned quite a bit about Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, the corporation behind most of Stewart’s business ventures. I heard about how the company was founded, discovered some of the basic philosophies that the executives embrace, and got a peek into a bit of the corporate culture. As viewers, we also got to see a side of Martha Stewart that not many people in the business world get to see. For example, members of the winning team for each task were given rewards. Some of the rewards included hanging out with Martha at one of her many homes in the New York area. So a few of the candidates got to go horseback riding with her, play Scrabble with her, and even eat a homemade breakfast with her. After watching the series, I had a whole different opinion of Martha Stewart and the MSLO Corporation, which, I suppose was the point of the show. After all, both entities had suffered from some seriously negative publicity in the months leading up to the premier of The Apprentice.

Flat Screen Televisions

Monday, May 8th, 2006

An article about flat screen televisions.

Flat screen televisions are like pagan religious symbols to all that is good and holy about postindustrial life in America. Well, maybe replace the words good and holy with fun and diverting. Either way, I find myself feeling the strange desire to kneel and pray every time I pass a flat screen television in a store. Flat screen televisions are simply awe-inspiring devices. How does the image fit in such a thin device? It just baffles me. Flat screen televisions are advertised for having a vastly superior quality picture than CRT TVs, and it’s true. The resolution of flat screen televisions is pretty outstanding, and they are all high definition capable. The technology for flat screen televisions is nothing new, but it has recently been perfected to the point where it makes a viable and even superior alternative to CRT TVs.

The great thing about flat screen television isn’t just the superior picture quality, but the sheer convenience of such a lightweight television. The one thing I’ve always hated about my large screen televisions of the older CRT variety is that they require a crane and/or team of starving college students to move. Flat screen televisions make owning a big TV not only great for viewing purposes, but easy to move around as well. And of course flat screen televisions take up a heck of a lot less space as well. You don’t have to devote a whole chunk of a room to your TV anymore, you can just mount it on your wall.

Best Flat Panel Televisions

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

Ever noticed the change that has come about in the televisions available today? Look closely. Sure, they are bigger and come in options like wide or super wide screens. Even the display in them is considerably better. Some of the premium models even come with in built DVD and other image and video display facilities. And the prices of these televisions have surely increased! But the one significant change, and a very visible one at that has been in the fact that most of the televisions we see nowadays have a lat panel monitor!

You surely couldn’t have missed that! Unless of course you are already the proud owner of a flat panel television! But flat panel televisions are merely the generic name of the latest display systems being used in televisions. Most flat panel televisions fall under two broad technologies. A bulk of the ‘older’ flat panel televisions are liquid crystal display televisions. And a sizable number of the latest flat panel televisions use the plasma display technology. These are the two technologies that have succeeded in replacing and slowly making obsolete the regular, cathode ray televisions that we have all grown used to seeing around.

Advertising Agencies, and Advertising Awards

For most outsiders, advertising awards are basically a self-aggrandizing occasion that advertising agencies indulge in. In some case, they are not unjust. Deep within the advertising industry. Advertising awards are seen with some disdain by a few agencies, while others go all out to demand and treasure their advertising awards.

First Impressions are Lasting Impressions.

In show business, the first impression can sometimes be the last impression. Producers, directors and casting directors are busy people.

The deciding factor in giving an unknown (or even an experienced actor whose opportunities have been limited) a chance toread for a part is often based on first impressions.
It’s up to you to know how to handle yourself during an interview: how to be at ease, and how to be well poised. How to sell yourself; how not to oversell yourself.

Plasma Television

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

An article about Plasma Television

This is where newer display technologies have resulted in better, modern televisions like the plasma television. In a plasma television, the older cathode ray tube technology is left behind in favor of an atomic technology. Our ability to manipulate and control the behavior of atomic particles has also enables us to enhance our viewing experience. This is the technology that a plasma television uses. A plasma, is a gas that contains freely flowing ions and electrons. When an electric charge is passed through this plasma, photons are released, which then provide illumination. The rest of the technology in plasma televisions is concentrated on using this illumination to create the three primary colors and to display them as images.

Pay Per View

An article about Pay Per View

I love the pay per view concept. It’s already getting to be more and more popular, and this excites me. I can’t wait until I have access to any movie I could ever want with just the push of a button and a $3.95 charge to my credit card. No late fees, no trip to the video store, just a mild thumb exercise that’s over before you know it and then wham, its movie time.
