Cheap and Discount Wrestling Shoes

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Let’s define the difference between Cheap and  Discount Wrestling Shoes? Firstly cheap as in made at low cost, are not the best deal for you.  Not only will such shoes not last very long in the ring, but they will not provide the wrestler with adequate and safe levels of foot support.  Hey, you get what you pay for!  But discounted wrestling shoes can be shoes which are normally more costly and of better quality and support, but have been reduced to make way for new stocks or are part of a closing down sale.  As you will already know, wrestling is a high contact sport where a lot of grappling goes on, and you may or may not be able to stay in the ring because of your opponent, but you certainly don’t want to have to leave it because of your shoes!

To play the game, you will need paintballs

Friday, November 14th, 2008

To play the game, you will need paintballs, of course. Paintballs are basically gelatin capsules filled with a special type of paint. They resemble marbles in shape and size and splatter upon impact. You will also need a marker for firing them. Beginners can start off with an inexpensive, basic marker, while more serious players will want something more advanced. To load the paintballs into the marker, you’ll need a piece of equipment known as a hopper. To fire the marker, you’ll need a tank filled with compressed air. Depending on where you shop, you may be able to find starter kits that contain everything you need to begin playing.

Paintball is such a popular sport lately that it’s likely you’ve got a facility in your area. If you don’t have your own equipment, many fields and facilities offer rental equipment. Once you experience the exhilaration of eliminating and evading the competition, you’ll want to play all the time!

Scuba diving is usually associated with deep sea ocean and salt water diving

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Most scuba diving is done for recreational purposes. People have an intense desire to view the great, beautiful coral reefs of the world up close. They can view sea life from a distance of feet or even inches. Scuba diving allows an educational experience not available from a nature show on television. There is training involved in learning to use the equipment, but a novice can learn the basics of scuba diving in only a few hours. Some scuba diving professionals endure extensive training to obtain advanced scuba diving certifications.

If you plan to take a scuba diving vacation, consider taking your diving lessons before you travel. Then you can spend more time scuba diving underwater, instead of practicing in the hotel pool.

Bench Pressing During Chest Workouts

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

The bench press is the staple exercise of any chest workout. Nothing is better for building muscle mass in the pectoral muscles. It’s also an easy chest exercise to perform - just make sure to keep your rear end on the bench and keep a natural arch in your lower back. Try pulling your shoulder blades inward as well so you contract your upper back muscles and pop the chest muscles out so they do most of the work while you bench press.

The Austin Healey Sprite Mark I - The “Bugeye” Sprite

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

The Austin Healey Sprite Mark I, the “bugeye” or “frogeye” Sprite, was designed by the renowned sports car designer Dennis Healey and built by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) from 1958 to 1961. 48,987 Mark I Sprites were made. It was released to the motoring press just before the start of the 1958 Monarco Grand Prix.

The Sprite was designed as a low-cost sports car for the average man and to be a natural replacement for the “hot” Austin Sevens that were raced in England at the time. To keep the cost down the design used many components from the Austin A30 and Morris Minor cars produced by BMC at the time.

The Mark I Sprite was the first production sports to use integrated construction. There is no rigid chassis, the sheet metal panels of the body carrying the structural loads. The Sprite had no outside door handles or trunk lid – again to save costs. The driver had to reach inside to open the door, and to get to the spare wheel required driver and passenger to get out and fold the seats forward.

The car’s bugeye stance, with the headlights sitting on the bonnet, was not part of the original design. These headlights were originally intended to pivot into a recess in the bonnet when not in use. Cost cutting however ensured that this feature was removed and the famous bugeye look was born. One wonders if the car would have been as successful if the original design had prevailed.

A slightly improved version of the 948cc Austin A35 engine was fitted to the first Sprite. It
produced just 43bhp with two 1 1/8” SU carburetors. The rear suspension was by quarter-elliptic leaf springs and lever-arm shockers. The leaf springs also acted as locators for the rear axle. The front suspension of wishbones and coil springs came from the Austin A35, as did the rack and pinion steering.

The first Sprite was entered in many major rallies and races and competed quite successfully. Many private owners took advantage of the fact that the car was relatively cheap and easy to modify and raced the car extensively and successfully. There were many exotic special models produced by private firms, the Sebring Sprite being one of the better known. An original model could reach 83 mph and accelerate to 60 mph in 20.5 seconds. Sprites are still raced by enthusiastic owners all around the world.

What is Cellulite and How is it Treated?

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

If you would ask what would be one of the common struggles many women have to face, it would be the struggle with cellulite. Once upon a time, this problem was associated with being overweight. Today, we know that everyone is susceptible to this issue, even athletes who are at their ideal body weight. The problem occurs when fat cells located under the septae expand and stretch out the connective tissue that covers them. This connective tissue becomes hard while the fat surrounding the tissue gets bigger due to water weight. The hard connective tissue and expanding fat causes the skin to take on an orange peel or cottage cheese appearance.

There are a variety of factors that are thought to cause or encourage the formation of this type of fat. One common cause is aging.

Workouts For The Legs

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

There are many weight trainers at any gym that tend to focus almost entirely on building up their upper bodies, neglecting workouts for the legs. They may do leg workouts, but don’t lift nearly as hard as they do for the upper body. This is what causes the cartoonish look of having huge upper body muscles and skinny little legs. If you want optimal overall muscularity you need to focus on doing hamstring and quadricep exercises with the same amount of intensity as you do for upper body workouts. If you do leg workouts that include squats you’ll likely even add more size to your upper body since squatting involves so many different muscles and gives you an increase in your testosterone levels.

How to winterize your sailboat yourself

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Before you start winterizing your sailboat, you need to make some important decisions. How and where are you going to store the boat? If you intend to haul the boat out of the water, where are you going to store it? if you have to leave the boat in the water you need to get good local information about the severity of the ice formation and how best to combat it. You’ll also have to arrange for regular inspections of the boat during the coldest months.

Your sailboat will need a cover whether hauled out or in the water. Tarpaulins or shrink wrapping are options. Tarpaulins are less expensive, but require more frequent visits to keep everything tight and waterproof. If you unstep the mast you can use it as a support for the tarpaulin and allow air to circulate during the winter. Unstepping the mast also reduces windage and stops water from running down the stays into the swages at the turnbuckles, freezing and cracking the swages.

Your motor needs special attention during the winterization process. It can be severely damaged by water freezing inside the water jacket. All water must be drained from the motor and replaced with eco-friendly anti-freeze. The fresh water pumps and lines also need to be drained and the head needs to be drained and filled with anti-freeze. The batteries need to be taken off the boat and stored in a cool dry place.

The sailing web site sailingmates has a checklist on how to winterize your sailboat. Here is part one of the checklist

Austin Healey 100 - a classic British sports car

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

The 100 series of Austin Healey sports cars was so named because it was one of the few cars of its time that could sustain a top speed of more than 100 miles per hour. Donald Healey, a famed sports car designer, designed the car and it was built between 1953 and 1956 by Jensen Motors for BMC.

Motor magazine tested the first four cylinder 100-4, the BN1, and found it to have a top speed of more than 110 miles per hour with a 0-60mph acceleration time of 11.2 seconds. The four cylinder engine had a capacity of 2660cc and produced 90 bhp in the early versions of the vehicle. There was a 3 speed gearbox with overdrive.

The second 100-4 model, the BN2, was produced from 1955 and had a 4 speed gearbox with overdrive. An aluminium bodied racing version, the 100-S, was produced in small volume. It had a 132bhp engine and disc brakes front and rear.

Winterize your sailboat - step-by-step checklist

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

During the winterization procedure, the motor requires the most attention. The motor is the most vulnerable piece of equipment on the boat. All water needs to be drained off or protected with anti-freeze. The head also needs to be protected as does the fresh water system. All loose equipment should be removed from the boat. Electronic equipment should be removed and stored in a warm dry place. Batteries should be removed.

Sailingmates has a two part checklist of all work required to winterize your sailboat. Read the winterizing checklist here.

Sports Performance and Hypnosis

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Here are just a few athletes who used self hypnosis for sports performance:
Angela Bailey, the current Canadian Record Holder in the 100 meters. She holds the record in a time of 10.98 seconds.
Tiger Woods has acknowledged the fact that he turns to hypnotherapy to calm his mind and improve his focus before every game he plays. In fact he is said to have been practicing it ever since he was 13.
Kevin McBride a heavyweight boxer who beat Mike Tyson for the championship. “A lot of athletes use only 2% to 8% of their ability at any given time,” said McBride. “What hypnosis does is send out signals to the subconscious mind that makes you leave nothing behind.”
Michael Jordan used hypnosis. It was a regular part of The Chicago Bull’s preparation, because of Phil Jackson, the head coach, who believed strongly in mental stamina.

There is a timeless saying “what the mind believes the body achieves.” Using hypnosis or self hypnosis engages this process for we first see and do in our mind whatever it is we desire to achieve, which begins to create the deep belief it is possible and then we have an increased chance of actually achieving what we first created mentally. Using the subconscious mind to engage in the imagery and created visualization of what we desire has been written about in cultures around the world since there has been documentation. It’s not new and athletes use it routinely. Golf legend Jack Nicklaus once said, “Golf is a game of inches. The most important seven are between your ears.”

Finding the Best Rock Climbing Equipment

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Rocky Mountain adventure lovers can’t resist scaling at least a few of those peaks. I learned the sport in Boulder, and quickly became hooked on the adrenaline rush, physical challenge, and the amazing views I was treated to when I reached my destination. Rock climbing equipment was important, since high quality gear made climbs both safer and more enjoyable. There were a lot of supplies available, but I quickly learned that each piece had its own purpose and I began collecting more gear as I gained experience and expertise.A rope is a key piece of rock climbing equipment for safety, and usually consists of braided nylon fibers enclosed in a nylon sheath. These ropes are just a tad stretchy, to safely catch falling climbers. Yes, climbers slip on occasion, but the gear is designed to keep them safe from those mishaps! I use my rope more than anything else in my gear bag, so I’m glad I bought a quality one the first time through.

Ice skates

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Learning to deal with ice skates at my age might be fun, but I fear I am going to break something. I’m not that old of course, but I am not a teenager either. Learning things like standing on ice skates is always easier when you are a child or a teen because you have almost no fear. That changes when you grow older, and you begin to realize how frail the human body can be. Those thoughts are going to be racing through my mind as I think about how to get up on those skates to go out on the ice with my little girl.I think this very healthy sport outdoor for my little girl

The Legacy Of Michael Jordan

Friday, September 5th, 2008

I will never, ever forget watching the Olympics in the summer of 1992. It was the first time that professional basketball players were allowed to even compete in the Olympics. Thus, the original Dream Team was formed, probably the greatest ever formulated, and Michael Jordan carried the American team to an undefeated gold medal.

The excitement from those games was simply powerful. I highly doubt that anyone has ever cheered for another Olympics basketball team as much as they cheered in 1992. His popularity simply continued to grow after that accomplishment.

Camping Is A Great Family Sport

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Camping is a great activity for me and my family. A lot of people like to find good camping sites as early in the year as they can. It’s important to ask a few questions when calling a place to reserve a camping site, as not all of these places are suitable, and each site will have something different to offer.
Some common questions that anyone should ask about camping sites is how much shade may or may not be there, and if there are any extras that might end up being very important. Some places have running water and electricity (great for coffee!), and these are wonderful, but not all of the sites on the camping grounds will have this. Before you reserve the camping site they are offering to you, just make sure you ask the right questions.

Golf Game Information and Tips

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

The objective of the game of golf is that one should be able to complete a hole by means of hitting a ball from a teeing ground and place it inside the hole of the putting green in as little strokes as possible.

A hole could be found in this area that is called a “putting green. ” Once the ball is hit, it usually travels fairways across and onto a next prepared area. Golf is played by hitting a ball using a club on an area called “teeing ground. What is commonly referred to as a round of golf usually consists of 18 holes to be played in.

As a gentleman’s game, rules pertaining to respecting others are of utmost importance. While golf may be a solitary sport, it does not mean that rudeness is condoned.

Hockey Players Ice Skating Advice

Friday, August 1st, 2008

For ice skating, you may want to pay for classes with a professional in order to learn the right skills if you want to be a good hockey player. The leaps and twirls that professional ice skaters are able to perform are the result of plenty of practice. After you master the basic skills of ice-skating you will be able to start learning various stunts if you want to.

This leads to a loss of balance especially when skating backwards. However, some players may bend over too much. Many players tend to stand a little too erect during play. This problem is magnified if their hockey sticks are too long. Posture is something that you need to consider as well. Bending too much can also lead to back pain in some cases.

When playing basketball, it is advised that the player be physically fit. Though, many would argue against the notion that height would make a player more efficient in rebounding, observers would surely reach a consensus in agreement.

I was a slow bloomer at almost everything. No one wanted me on their team. They were big outdoor basketball courts in the parks, but you had to be good to play. I never felt comfortable playing at the outdoor basketball court because all of the kids made fun of me. One day, I got good at basketball, but when I was just starting out I was terrible. Where we came from in the city, there weren’t any backyard basketball courts. In first grade, I moved to a better school district with my parents.

Archery Equipment Advice And Information

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

As an outdoor guy myself, I prefer archery over many past times. Sure you could pop into Wal-Mart or K-Mart for some aluminium arrows or hunting supplies, but this wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. However, I must have the finest archery equipment in order to fully enjoy the recreational sport/hobby.

When you are looking for good archery equipment, you do have to think about safety if you have children. They don’t always understand that archery equipment items are not only for fun but that they can also be very dangerous. As with guns, keep them up and locked.

You should always have a safe place to keep these things that are far away from wandering hands and interested children.

Find a Job as a Tour Caddy

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Working as a caddy on the PGA Tour you get a lot of questions about your job, but the question caddies are asked the most is,” how do you get a job as a caddy on tour”? If you ask a tour caddy this question you are most likely to get some short vague answer that is little or no help to you. The main reason for these vague answers is mainly because the caddy doesn’t have the time to fully explain the job process. To give a complete explanation would take a good 20 to 30 minutes and more than likely they would still forget some important points.

Realizing there were golfers wanting this information and not being able to find it I decided to write an e-book explaining the complete process. The e-book explains exactly what to say, where to go, and how to do it.

I know a PGA tour caddies job is not for everybody but for those that may be interested they need to jump on the bandwagon quickly. One of the best opportunities to secure a job as a PGA tour caddy is coming up in the next two months and they need to be ready. Find out what you need to do to become a tour caddy.

Taking a New Zealand Ski Vacation

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

When taking New Zealand ski vacations you will find that most of the slopes are geared towards the downhill skier.  You will also find that most slopes do not house huge resorts and most skiers commute from outside little towns. They also tend to purchase or rent their ski equipment from shops located outside of town.  During peak times the lines can get really long and small groups have the option of taking a helicopter up to remote mountain areas to ski all by themselves.
