Writers – Develop A Habit of Writing To Improve Your Productivity

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Every writer has his own particular ways or tips on writing a book quickly – especially a non fiction book. Many authors have a regular time to write. It could be morning, evening, noon – but they have a specific time each day where they write.

This helps them to get into a rhythm. It also helps them to get into the habit of writing. If you make it a habit to sit down at your desk and write a certain number of words every day, you’ll be amazed at the output you can produce.  Another good tip that almost al writers use when writing a non-fiction book is to outline.

Outlining forces you to put your thoughts into a logical framework, something that many writers find difficult to do. But, once you’ve done it, the actual writing itself often becomes a piece of cake.

Online Magazine Subscriptions

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Magazines are normally all about us, these publications provide a regular source of relevant, up-to-date world news as well as entertainment. Regardless of whether you like to read magazines aimed at business, learning or possibly pleasure, the real advantages of magazine subscriptions may very well be something you would like to thoroughly look at. Authors or small firms can seriously contemplate self publishing as an alternative to common publishing options.

The first and most important reason that people may decide on a subscription to a magazine, in place of collecting them from the supermarket is very likely value savings. Subscribing to a periodical is significantly cheaper than acquiring it on a separate basis at the cover price. Based on the distributor, publisher, and title, one can regularly make savings of up to 80% off the list cost! Cost cuts are typically improved much more by deciding on a lengthier contract plan, the greater the number of years you sign up to the more substantial the deduction.

Usually a magazine publishing house or seller will give you special presents when you purchase a magazine subscription with them. These include promotional special edition magazines, shirts and caps, stationary supplies or additional novelty items. Occasionally publications will even throw in additional magazine subscriptions at cheap or no cost.

Let us face it a magazine subscription is simply beneficial. No more trips to the newsstand. No future standing in checkout lines. No more missing this month’s issue. No more calling the production house or paying far too much cash to receive issues that you missed. That is even providing that magazine stores even exist within a reasonable distance to where you live!

Often times people may desire to pick up a magazine, which isn’t readily acquirable in a newsstand, general store, or magazine retailer. Neighbourhood stores will usually charge more than common for specific orders. What’s worse, their usual deliveries might not usually come on time. Requesting a subscription to hard-to-find digests negates this particular problem completely.

In today’s rapidly changing world, information is everything. It is essential to get breaking world news in a regular fashion. Magazine subscribers will usually attain their issues way ahead of the latest edition finding their way to the retailers’ shelves.

Writing a fiction Book

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

For most people, writing does not come natural. Fortunately, however, it is a skill that can be taught. Characterization is the key to writing a fiction book.

That’s why often when you hear writers being interviewed they will tell the interviewer that they let the characters write their own story. Part of learning to write real characters that come alive on the page is to become aware of people in real life. Structure is also important in a fiction book.

Every novel has to have a beginning, a middle, and an end. You can, or course, be creative and change the structure sequences as you gain confidence in your abilities as a writer. For example, you may choose to start the piece with the dramatic last scene and spend the rest of the piece showing how events ended up at this point. But, no matter, what order you place them in, every piece of fiction writing must have all three parts.

Unlimited Bandwidth web hosting?

Friday, December 25th, 2009

What does actually bandwidth mean? It is the a term typically used to describe the amount of information (or data) that your web site sends to your visitors over a spesific amount of time, usually a month. Every time a vistor comes to your site, the web server sends the front page, with all the images and text, to the browser of the visitor. If you have two images that are each 0.05 mb, just there you have used 0.10 mb of bandwidth for that page view. Add up all the page views and you will have your bandwidth usage.

Now, some web hosting companies offer unlimited bandwidth hosting, but can they actually deliver unlimited?

Unlimited, endless, unrestricted, bandwidth
For starters, there is no such thing as “unlimited” bandwidth, strictly speaking. If there was, all web sites in the world could be run through the same internet backbone connection. Unlimited, in the most formal use of the word, means unlimited, endless, unrestricted, bandwidth.

Secondly, at what point does your bandwidth usage result in the server you are on being over loaded? Long before “unlimited”, that’s for sure. Think about it, if Google were to sign up for a $7.99 web hosting account, with unlimited bandwidth and storage, the web hosting company would have to shut down business the second Google went online on their server (if such a server were to exist).

Web hosts better provide a lot of bandwidth
And that is where a reasonable argument lays. If you are a web host that offers unlimited bandwidth, you better be sure to be able to handle a web site that actually has a respectable amount of traffic. Too many customers of shared hosting have complained about their site being taken down by their web host the minute they actually get any traffic worth talking about. No notice, just wham, down. Others have received a notice, either before or after, but that really doesn’t cut it.

Choose a web host that helps you when your site grows
A good web hosting company goes to great lengths to ensure that a customer is able to host even a large and popular web site on a shared hosting account. That is, if they advertise with unlimited bandwidth.

What is Article Marketing

Friday, December 11th, 2009

There is an information revolution raging online. Article marketing has fuelled this move due to the ever growing requirement to publish unique content on your websites. There is more content online today than you can possibly go through. To simply define it, article marketing is the use of articles to act as marketing tools. This means that if you have a business, you can write relevant articles in your line of business to educate your visitors. The advantage of this form of marketing is that it has an effect not only online, but also offline. Indeed, article marketing breaks the barrier of online marketing and can have a real impact on your business. The fundamentals behind the whole idea are the same and the internet simply offers a different form of distribution.

When you write articles you want to build credibility and trust by offering your customers free, useful information that is exactly relevant to their search term. Customers will respect you for offering them information that is relevant without necessarily coercing them into buying something from you or visiting your website. Some authors have become experts in this field and as a result, they are now considered authority figures in their own industry, simply because they took the time to write relevant, informative articles. You may not become an authority figure in your field but you can get your articles pulling large traffic to your website which eventually is the whole idea.

Articles are more likely to capture the attention of your readers and have a lasting impact than advertisements because they offer useful information to the user. When you engage in article marketing, you get the chance to present yourself, or your service or product, in a way that your potential customers would otherwise not have gotten a chance to experience. The more relevant the content is, the more likely they are to come back and the more likely they are to purchase something from you. How do you distribute your articles? There are many ways to do this. You can decide to have a monthly newsletter, a blog or post to article directories. All of these are effective ways of getting people to read what you have written. Article directories will readily accept original content that is relevant to your field of expertise and will allow you to display your contact information on the bottom of the article offering you wide exposure.

You do not have to be an expert writer to undertake article marketing. As long as you know something about the industry or service you are providing, you already have enough information you can share and your customers will show their appreciation – very likely with more sales.

Tips to make your story interesting

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Most authors try to follow a journalistic pattern of news writing, adhering to the formula of 5W’s and one ‘H’. However, an interesting piece of writing should have a strong theme and exclusive style of its own. It should clearly indicate what is to follow and should conceal the climax till the end of the story. It is essential to maintain direct link from one part to another to ensure continuity of thoughts and to focus on the chosen theme.

To sustain the interest of the reader, a writer, while writing on the subject matter he has chosen, should pay attention to the theme, style and language used in his work. He should give importance to the clarity, freshness and depth of the ideas expressed. The language adapted should be simple and easily understandable. William Wordsworth has said that the language used must be purged of impurities such as slang, vulgarity, coarseness, archaism and so on.

Self Publish Your Own Way to Literary StardomSelf Publish Your Own Way to Literary Stardom

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

If you yourself are an impassioned developing young author, naturally talented writer or feasibly a smaller inspired enterprise looking to communicate good insights or perhaps make your personal imprint on the extreme world then more traditional publishing will generally be a stumbling post to revealing your tender innermost thoughts away, into the marketplace. Take heed you who may be crestfallen, there are digital and original online options accessible that can often take the sting headache, burning distress and certain of the difficulty out of broadcasting one’s textual jewels. There is no revelation you could be overjoyed to hear that one can circumvent all of the editors, sub-editors and superior publishers by assuming your own actions toward broadcasting your own craft.

So you have a fantastic tale that you have been working extremely hard on for many years, or conceivably highly important facts that you just know many users would sell their own pets to acquire. One might have mesmerising data from a particular research study, or maybe even a compilation of imaginative photographs, special pictures or additional creative artwork that you would like to assemble as a unique compilation of works to exhibit one’s artistic endowment or to get beneficial exposure to the quality services you supply and get your specialised products recognition. How about just having your analysis with regard to the things that truly unsettle you; exasperating people, controlled politics, vacillating society, shallow culture and imparting your judgement with other concurring people.

Currently it is possible that you find yourself in a marvellous position where you could have put in the extremely tough work and have got the wares; a brilliant piece of creative work that is unusually important, even so you could still need to reach a deal with a publisher and prove to them that your carefully crafted lovingly created composition is worthy to be eternalised in print. Unluckily this will probably commonly be the ending of the line for countless naturally talented authors, wordsmiths, poets, scribes, reporters and biographers. Even if the publisher has been satisfied another frustrating tripping post will probably be brought to light. The high costs of all all of the extras; editors, designers and other resources necessary to convert an out of this world brainchild into an achieved reality will probably fall way outside of what it is possible that you feel is reasonable or you could may not be able to see the value in the cost.

The money required in broadcasting is not the only restraint or exasperating stumbling post, for many people the turn around times for traditional broadcasting are far too long. This is often the case in the instance of stories, data or facts that is decidedly fresh, in respect to hot trends or subject matter and can typically devalue as time passes and the limited window of opportunity for impact starts to close.

Modern technology comes to the rescue once again, offering you a fast track alternate option. In our chaotic, technologically advanced world a hefty array of services which have typically been offered offline are fast making the mass migration into the unearthly clever online sphere, making the services far more accessible to any who wants to use them and often at a much lesser cost to the user too. Clever digital broadcasting is just one of these services and it provides you, the prodigious young writer, with the capability to publish your lovingly created handiwork yourself sans the delays and great charges associated with the more “historical” mediums. As an example of the power of online publishing, the digital magazine is growling fast in popularity with expectations that it will surpass it’s print counterpart in the not too distant future.

Digital publishing should also provide you flexibility you might be hopeful for in terms of the trouble-free ease of updating information, data or even adding entire sub-sections to an already published works. Then there is the rising value of rich media such as; interactive applications, animations, videos and widgets. With an online or digitally published creative work this flexibility is fully probable and an extensive array of extras and rich media are easily integrated into the magazine, article, or e-book.

In summary, a developing author, small research company or photographic studio no longer needs to kiss up to publishers or hold up a small bank to see their special works out and about in the marketplace. We live in the intelligent digital age and this outrageous world of sharp digital has come to rescue to help you realise you own publishing dreams.

Commission Blueprint 2 For 2009 And Beyond

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Today there are a lot of how to make money online courses everywhere. Commission Blueprint 2 by Steve Clayton and Tim Godfrey will be yet another on the list of affiliate marketing courses beginning September 9, 2009.. Who are Steve and Tim? They are very successful affiliate marketing course creators. In a nutshell they teach people how to make money on the internet with the products they sell.

There are others who do the same thing but Steve and Tim are a little different in their approach with Commission Blueprint2. There are strategies that many affiliate marketers use to interest people to their offers. If they all look the similar that is because they work. The difference is what they do after you take them up on their offer.

A great copywriter can make any product they design the sales copy for appear to be awesome. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean that the products don’t work at all. What I mean is sometimes there is more work involved with getting things started and you have to know what to do. They are made to seem that anyone can do it. Then when you get them you find out that if you don’t have technical experience then it is very difficult to get things working properly.

These facts make the products that Tim and Steve make more user friendly than most others on the market. You get the exact strategies that are needed to make the most of their products allowing for maximum success at reaching your goal.
The exact list of resources are also included. Paid versions on some tools are recommended but not required free alternatives are also listed, they just don’t allow you to take advantage of all the features without a lot of manual work. They don’t try to keep an unfair advantage over their customers by not telling them the whole story.

I am trying to give an unbiased opinion about the products that they have put out. However because I actually am a customer and have used their products and had the type of success that they say anyone can have using them. This review leans in their favor that is be cause I know the quality and that it actually works, so I don’t feel that its a bad thing you be the judge.
I will have to tell you the biggest con to getting their internet marketing courses. If you buy it and you think that it will work just because you bought it. If you are not going to put forth the required effort then let me save you some money right here.

DO NOT BUY IT. No product will work if you don’t use it.

Tips on Web Marketing

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

When you’re working on the presentation of your newsletter, it’s a good idea to make a template, which delivers a high impact design. For example, start each issue with a bold statement to catch their attention, remember you only have seven seconds before they click on if something of interest doesn’t catch their eye. Then always remember to follow up with a call to action. A well designed newsletter produced by a good web design company can help with this.

Some considerations to bear in mind for the most effective web marketing strategies: when you offer your e-newsletter subscription, the double opt-in subscription gives you credibility. Your contacts will feel more confident in you and your business reputation when you let them know that when they sign up, they’ll receive an email asking them to confirm their that they want to receive your emails by clicking a opt in link. Also, be sure to include a statement, at the begining, to the effect that you respect their privacy and won’t ever sell, share or trade their email address with anyone.
While you may send some in frequent emails to inform your subscribers on special offers or events, don’t send too many. Too many emails starts to feel like spam to your potential customers.
Following this basic strategy, you’ll have a very effective web marketing strategy, one that keeps your subscribers happy and increases your bottom line. It’s a win-win for yourself and your customers.Happy days!

San Diego’s classified ads and its Advantages

Friday, August 7th, 2009

When you have something to sell, you may be confused as to how you want to go about it. You can always turn to eBay, but that is not something that everyone wants to do, and is not always the best choice when you have larger items to sell. It is hard to sell a car on eBay without incurring a lot of shipping charges, as well as a lot of inconvenience. For those people and those larger items, you probably want to take advantage of the classified ad in San Diego that you can place in your local paper both online and off.

When you run San Diego’s classified ads online, be sure they are localized. That means they are only on pages where those in your local community are going to run into them. These are not as common as the ones in your local paper just yet, but they are out there and they are useful. You are going to find classifieds online from your papers as well, but you may have to pay more for the additional online listing. You should talk with someone at your local paper about your classified ads to see what you can get for how much you want to spend. [Read More on San Diego's classified ads and its Advantages Here]

Where To Learn Copywriting

Friday, July 17th, 2009

You’ve probably heard about copywriting. In fact, you’ve probably heard about the hype its causing online, with plenty of people quitting their day jobs in order to sit at home and write killer sales copy. But before you decide to jump on the bandwagon, there’s something important that you shouldn’t forget – to learn copywriting from an expert.

Learning copywriting just doesn’t mean learning how to write and learning the basics of grammar. You also have to learn one very vital part that goes along with the whole writing thing, and that is learning how to sell. In order to learn the basics of copywriting, there are plenty of guides and articles available, but few offer training courses from acknowledged experts like John Carlton.

Making Company Logo Products in San Diego

Monday, July 6th, 2009

I have seen many people question the importance of Escondido’s logo products design, but that questioning has never gone anywhere. Every stage of the product logos process is crucially important to the success of any product. Not only do you have to think of the perfect logo, but you have to get it out there. Although there are some new techniques for doing this, the old ones are also necessary. If you’re printing logos on products, giving away promotional items, spreading the word through billboards, advertisements, discount coupons, and product placement, you can get people interested in your new design quickly and efficiently.

Many people used to think that the actual logos themselves were the most crucial part. People would discuss in depth the core principles of design in hopes of coming up with the perfect company logo products in San Diego. Nowadays, we know that it is not true. A product logo still exists in a context. People remember the commercials where the product logos were first exhibited and explored, and it makes as much or more of an effect as the design of the logo itself. Internet Marketing Video Uploader

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

What did I need? I am into internet marketing, and I wanted low cost, high quality, ad free and easy to use.

I contacted Brightcove. They are expensive and unpopular according to the blog comments. One day they pulled free content from users and the entry point is $2000. You cannot use it as a storage place because you can upload but not download. I did not like the vibe from them.
The end solution has a number of benefits. It is EzS3video. It works like an ftp combined with a player creation tool. You can control access for sepcific URL’s only and make players that will allow full screen mode.

Different Copy Writing Jobs

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Here we take a look at different copy writing jobs, what they entail and the skills you need to perfect to compete and land a contract or freelance gig. All copy writing jobs involve persuasive rhetoric that is concise and hard hitting. Your objective is to bring in sales. You might be called upon to write the copy for a brochure advertising a resort. One characteristic of all copy writing is tight writing which covers a lot of territory in few words. In the case of the resort, that business may offer lodging, fishing, excursions to local attractions, boat rentals, a gift shop and restaurant. A trifold brochure, printed on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, with photos showcasing the resort, leaves you little room to convince the reader that this is where he wants to spend his vacation.

Popular Childrens Book Publishers

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Sometimes a publisher will hit the jackpot and have a runaway success. After being turned down by various children book publishers, the independent Bloomsbury took on J.K. Rowling and her Harry Potter creation. Needless to say, the firm’s fortunes greatly improved! Their author list is impressive even without Rowling and includes Michael Rosen and Carol Ann Duffy. Bloomsbury also published The Princess Bride by William Goldman. The range also includes beautifully illustrated nursery rhymes and fables. Dorling Kindersley books are a familiar sight in bookstores and in children’s libraries. These illustrated reference books are translated into 51 languages.

Five Daily Creative Writing Exercises To Build Better Writing Skills

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

It’s paradoxical that one of the biggest challenges to the creative writer, whether aspiring or practicing, is to discipline themselves to write every day. The lover of words is usually an artistic and creative person, so it would seem that this would not pose a problem. However, the other side of this personality also is prone to a certain romanticism, which infuses an element of eccentricity and idealism, a la Hemingway, Wolfe, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. Before we get into our writing exercises, this element deserves a brief discussion. Many of the great classic writers were often tormented souls, living solitary lives, in less than ordinary circumstances.

How To Assemble An Attention-Getting Portfolio Of Technical Writing Examples

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Technical writing is a specialized genre of commercial writing. Projects are typically divided into two content groups, those for a technically conversant audience and those targeted at a layman reader. Technical writing jobs usually require prior experience in order to have a good chance at landing a job. If you do have such experience, chances are that you have published pieces to submit as technical writing examples. Naturally, you’ll want to submit your best pieces, geared towards the needs of your potential employer. If your experience includes publications directed towards user audiences, you have a much better chance of getting your foot in the door.

Different Acne Treatments

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

What type of acne treatment someone might want to use will depend greatly on how bad the acne problem really is for each person. Some people just have a few blemishes to worry about, and others have acne so bad it produces scarring that can last for the rest of their lives. Acne is often a result of hormonal changes, and has nothing to do with what someone eats, though many believe that myth. When a teenager hits puberty, the severity of their acne problems will come into focus. Some get lucky and need no acne treatments, but the rest are not quite as fortunate.

If you have a site for a medicine tackling a certain disease, your articles must be about the diseases. Or if you sell materials for home improvements provide articles with those themes. Most articles searched for are tips, guidelines, methods, manuals and such. If you provide these articles to your customers and you have their trust, they will always go to your site for help and advice as well as for your products.

With the loyalty of these customers, they may subscribe to your opt-in list to receive all the information you have. If you provide them with the answers for that need, they will be happy to be receiving your newsletters as well as other promotional materials to keep them well informed. Others may even forward your newsletters to other people when they find a certain article interesting.

You should provide links in your newsletter so that when other people are reading it and wants to read more, they may click on the link and go to your site. With the articles you have in your site that are good, they may decide to sign up as well for your opt-in list. This will build your email list and make it bigger.

Running a Newsletter Ticks all the Marketing Boxes

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Making a newsletter for your website is really not all that difficult. There are many tutorials out there which will show you the ropes on the technical points. Go to Google and enter “online newsletter tutorial” or “ezine tutorial”. You’ll find many excellent resources in just the first couple of pages of results. There are just a few formatting considerations if you’re making a newsletter in a text-only format. If you want to get fancy, make a newsletter that’s also available in an HTML format, with fancy graphics and lots of color. Whether you opt for text-only or both text and HTML formats depends on what you’re promoting. Service oriented websites often find that making a text newsletter serves the needs of its customers best, as information is the main draw. A site selling fancy candles or garden plants will want to make a newsletter available in HTML, as a visual sells that product best.

Finding Logo Type Fonts

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

All designers are after that perfect typeface to create a custom logo for either their own sites or that of clients. Many fonts are expensive but there are logo fonts available on the net for no charge. A font repository like fontation.com can help the conscientious designer find that perfect file. Each font has a clear preview and are also offered as freeware, so thankfully no such expenses to pass on to clients.

Writer market

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

I began my writing career at the age of 12. Okay, so you caught me. I wasn’t exactly getting paid back then for my witty banter and sarcastic diatribes. However, I was doing what every determined writer should do, and that’s honing my skills. Writing, like every other field is about hard work. You have to practice and learn more in order to get better and hopefully succeed. This goes without saying. It’s a process we learn at a very young age and it applies to everything we do.
