The idea of being a cool 50’s bad boy or girl has a certain appeal to it. You don’t have to have experienced the time to still want to dress up for Halloween in a 50s costume with a Grease jacket for the guys or poodle skirts for the girls. There’s a sort of innocence along with the wildness associated with the era and the re-creation of that time at home parties or fundraising events with sock hops and 50’s dances is still popular. It’s understandable; we still like the bad boys and girls like Angelina Jolie in some of her roles or Nicholas Cage in just about anything.
Right along with that the Grease phenomena and Grease costumes are alive and well, and why not? I dare anybody to watch this movie or see the musical and not feel like dancing or at least singing along. Doing the hand jive, “Summer Nights” and “Greased Lightning” have all become a part of our culture. Rizzo’s hauntingly touching “There are Worse Things” and the rousing ending of “You’re the One I Want“; its electrifyin!! Dressing up as Grease movie characters is a fun way to go Hyyydro-matic, Ultra-matic.
Grease is still the word and there are a wide variety of Grease costumes to choose from in addition to enough Grease costume accessories to make any of the costumes original.
There are 50’s poodle skirt costumes or Rydell High Cheerleader costumes for the innocent look of Sandy before she decided the way to catch her man was to go sexy and yes there are sexy Sandy costumes too.
There are Pink Ladies jackets and T Bird jackets, which signify you as a part of the “in” crowd at Rydell High. There are even Grease costumes for kids so mom and daughter can have look alike Pink Ladies jackets. Your son can grab a comb and some hair gel, roll up his jeans and be a T Bird or James Dean look alike with these cool cat Grease costumes. There’s even a poodle skirt costume for the baby–soo cute! With so many accessories available like the Frenchie pink hair wig and 50’s head scarves and cat eye glasses, you can still make your Grease costume fit your own idea of 50’s style.
You don’t have to wait for Halloween either. There’s a wide variety of 50’s party supplies for a Halloween party or an anytime party, including a 3′ blowup replica of a jukebox. How fun is that? So have a great time and a hip, slick and cool Halloween.

Not everyone is a fan but most people enjoy a fun night out in a Karaoke Bar. Secret devotees prefer to use karaoke machines from the privacy of their homes! It takes a certain amount of bravado to get up and sing in front of a roomful of people. Great singers have been discovered and the not so great have, at least, built up some self-confidence.
The early Karaoke Bars, sometimes known as KTV Boxes used basic equipment using cassette tapes. These were updated through time with CDs, laserdiscs, VCDs and DVDs. The karaoke machines became more sophisticated and so did the venues. Small, cordoned off areas in clubs gave way to karaoke lounges, devoted to the dedicated fan. Some bars have dance floors and disco lights.

Outlaw country music was started in response to a style of country music called the Nashville sound, which was a bit softer than country had ever been. Such country music artists as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash were the originators of outlaw country and really made it what it was.
One of the interesting things about outlaw country music is that there was a women’s movement during that period that featured such performers as Jessi Colter and Sammi Smith.
The outlaw country music movement also spawned a new movement in country music called Texas country music, which has already established legions of loyal followers. Hank Williams III is one of the more notable musicians from that movement.
Jennings was the king of outlaw country music for me. He had a number of songs that exemplified the style, including Lonesome, On’ry and Mean and Honky Tonk Heroes.
One of my best friends asked me one time if I thought that outlaw country was better than other types of country music, because he liked more of the pop country style of modern artists. He said that it just seemed to be more listener-friendly style and that it appealed to a much larger listening audience than some of the outlaw country artists.
I told him that was precisely the reason that I prefer outlaw country music. To me, it had more of an authentic feel to it, and when I listened to it, I knew that I was listening to real country music and not a pop song.

I have often marveled at the relationship between music and the mind and how certain situations in life seem to call for different types of music. I sat down one day to think about all of the different styles of music that I like and occasions in life when they are appropriate or even seem to help me, and what I found was very interesting. My friend Paul said he used to like to listen to classical music to get to sleep at night, and almost always found that it did the trick for him.
I am not sure what the relationship between music and the mind is in this case, but I think it has something to do with the hard-driving, aggressive nature of both styles that really gets your adrenaline pumping and helps you to push through. I don’t think I could ever listen to classical music during a weight-lifting workout, or heavy metal while trying to study or absorb something.
Another type of music that I really like is country, and I have found that when I am working out in my yard, I like to listen to that. I am not sure if other people have that type of feeling, because I have never known anyone that did, but for me, I like the feeling of being out in the fresh air, working hard, and listening to country music.
I had once read an article that talked about music and the mind and how classical music can actually help you prepare for a test. I can’t remember exactly what the correlation was, but I tried it myself while studying and found that it did seem to help me to concentrate better. Even to this day, when I am working on a big project, I will put on some Mozart or Grieg and get to work.

My son recently came to me and asked if he could take piano lessons. I was very impressed, as I had taken lessons when I was his age, and I knew that piano lessons for children were beneficial in a number of ways that went far beyond learning how to play a musical instrument.
I started on the piano when I was about 12 years old, and my instructor was an old lady named Mrs. Winn. When my son came to me and asked if he could take piano lessons, I thought back to what my teacher told me all of those years ago. Piano lessons for children are beneficial for a number of reasons, and I am always grateful for what I learned from my piano teacher.
I had always fancied myself the next Van Cliburn, so I thought this was a great opportunity for me, and then she told me that lessons were good for children in other ways, too.
The most important reason my teacher gave for why piano lessons for children are so beneficial is because children have the opportunity to create something beautiful through hard work. She told me that even if I did not appreciate what I was learning at the time, one day I would.
Well, it is many years later, and I do really appreciate learning how to play the piano.
I asked her what she meant, and she said that learning to play the piano taught children a sense of responsibility and accountability. When I returned the following week, she expected me to know the music, and if I didn’t, I had to tell her why I had not practiced. She said she loved hearing about children playing a musical instrument or participating in a sport, because they were being productive.

In this article, we will talk about why so many people choose to master guitar, and what’s the best way to approach it. Also, we will give tips to help you succeed in this endeavor.
Why learn guitar? You probably already know why you have decided to do it, but we will list some reasons, which you may not have considered. People tend to learn guitar (or any other musical instrument) for one of 3 reasons: for fun, fame, or money. You can learn this instrument for fun and entertain yourself and/or others. Some people love the sound of this instrument so much that they don’t need any audience to enjoy it. They take pleasure in their own play, when they are in the mood, or when they feel down or lonely. Others love to entertain friends and family, or even perform at small public events for pleasure.
Other people learn guitar to become famous and/or rich. Doesn’t it sound impossible to learn to play like Jimi Hendrix or The Beatles and become as rich and popular as them? Even though it may sound impossible, it is achievable. New stars rise on the musical horizon all the time: James Hetfield (born 1963; Metallica), Richard Kruspe (born 24 June 1967; Rammstein), Noel Gallagher (born 1967; Oasis), Ed O’Brien (born 1968; Radiohead), Mick Thomson (born 1973; Slipknot), and many others. In order to become as good as them, you would need a good share of luck, talent, and persistence. However, it never hurts to try; the payout in the form of fame and wealth can be tremendous.
Now that we know why, the obvious question is: How can you learn to play guitar? This choice is individual for each guitarist. There are quite a number of varied ways to learn, including music schools, tutors, classes, and learning on your own. Schools are the most tedious way – it can take you as long as 5 years to graduate. Moreover, your individuality may be suppressed by the teachers. It is also likely to cost a lot. The second way are tutors and short classes. This takes less time, as well as it costs less, making it one of the preferred ways to study. Yet, it may be inconveniencing to have to travel to the class each time. The most convenient way is to learn on your own. However, it is best to be guided by someone, such as another guitarist (a friend, perhaps), a course, or a book. Books are boring and dry. That is why one of the most popular ways to learn guitar today is with the aid of the specialized home study courses with a tutor, where the tutor teaches you on a video. The material of the course can also be presented in written form.
Here are a few tips to succeed: remember your motivation and cultivate it like a flower – don’t let it pass away. Keep practicing every day, and remain very patient. If you follow this advice, you are very likely to achieve the level of mastery that you want to achieve.

I never will forget that the first of the many metal CDs I ever bought was Metallica’s And Justice for All. I loved that album, and I would listen to it over and over again, as I did when I had first bought the album on cassette.
The beautiful part about having it on a compact disc was that I never had to worry about it wearing out.
When I was a youngster, my family and I would got to a place called Trader’s Village about once a month and shop for a variety of things: house decorations, appliances and pretty much everything else under the sun. I began talking to them and asking them about heavy metal and whether they liked it, and they said they did and most of their friends were into it, as well. I started mentioning some of my metal CDs, and while they said they respected those bands for getting things started, they were a bit too old school for their taste.
I went on to purchase several more metal CDs by Metallica, along with Guns n’ Roses, Pantera, Anthrax and several other bands, but as time went by and tastes in music changed, it appeared that heavy metal seemed to lose some steam in popularity.
I would hear about the hottest new pop sensation or hip hop artist, but rarely about heavy metal, unless of course, it was one of those bands I had listened to, especially Metallica.

Rock music has their fair share of these types of artists but this inability to write a good original song sometimes baffles the mind. Some of the worst instrumentalists of all time have written original rock songs that have made millions of dollars so it is bewildering to think that the best have trouble creating original tunes. I compare the great instrumentalists to these technicians and scientists. They get so caught up in the minutiae and detail in the world of music theory that they can’t step back and write an original song. Writing an original song that is any good has to come from a wellspring of emotion and a profound depth of feeling.
Original tunes are not created using a formula. That being said, there are some guidelines for writing popular and rock tunes and that formula has worked brilliantly for many years and for many of the top selling artists of all time. The formula has to do with the structure of an original song, especially for pop, funk, or rock music. The chorus is also called the hook and may be repeated at the end while the recording fades. These are just general guidelines that songwriting experts over the years have established as being the most common to use.
You still need to use your imagination and have lots of feeling. Most of the time a hit original song comes from a person’s life experience or something painful that happened to them. Song hits from the past 50 years are full of dramatic and life-changing themes and lyrics. There are structured classes where one can go and learn how to write songs, but no way can any of these classes guarantee that you will write a hit original song.

As a young teenager, my favorite kind of music was heavy metal, and I used to love it when MTV would play metal videos, because it seemed like it was so rare for that happen.
I think the video itself really showed what could be done with metal videos and opened the door for others. It seemed that shortly after its release, MTV gradually started playing more and more such videos. One that always stands out to me was the video for Paradise City by Guns n’ Roses. I guess the reason for that is the simplicity of the concept, and the white jacket and pants that Axl Rose is wearing. The video pans around an empty stadium and shows all of the band members standing around and cutting up, and then the music starts and the stadium is filled. Today, I will often find myself looking up metal videos online to sort of take me back to a time when life was a lot simpler. It’s a blast from the past that sometimes you just need.
When the MTV show Headbangers Ball was first introduced, I was absolutely thrilled, because it was a show devoted entirely to metal videos that I would literally watch one after another. The only problem there was that the show was on late at night when it first came out, and my parents would not always let me stay up and watch it.
Then it gets into the heavier part of the song when the band starts ripping those hard chords and Axl starts head banging, and even though it was probably 20 years ago that I saw the video, I still think about it from time to time.
One of the other metal videos I liked was Anti-Social by Anthrax, mainly because I liked the song, and I felt like they did not try to do to much in the video, which for me would have taken away from the whole feel of the song. It would have been harder to concentrate on the song if they tried to make the video to flashy.

We are lovers of the great 80s Music Hits! We tend to think of the 70s as the disco era and the 60s as the time when rock music developed. The 60s were the days of Beatles, Who, Rolling Stones, and a host of other great bands that we now think of as the seminal groups in rock history. But the 80s were a different fact and do not get the respect that many experts think it should.
Tears for Fears and their fantastic international number one hit Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Shout. Pop groups too like Pet Shop Boys and their huge 80s music hit East End Boys and West End Girls or the digital Depeche Mode with Strange Love, Policy of Truth, Personal Jesus and Route 66. Simple Minds and Don’t You Forget About Me! A lot of great groups making 80s music hits that just don’t get the credit they deserve.
The 80s were also the time of Michael Jackson, Prince, and Madonna, three giants of the industry who continued to churn out hit after hit for many years. Prince Purple Rain was just the right blend of rock and soul and the big hit from the album was Let’s Go Crazy. U2 began in the 80s and their songs With or Without You and Pride.

In musical styles like rock n’ roll and country-western, the singers have nice voices, and that is certainly part of what makes them appealing, but their recorded voices sound much sharper and cleaner than their voices sound live. I am not sure why opera music produces the best singers, but I have a few ideas. First, with country and rock artists, they are usually writing their own songs. I am a fan of most kinds of music, but with our local opera festival drawing closer and the thought of Don Giovanni on my brain, I have been thinking a lot more about opera music lately and how talented opera singers truly are.
I started to think about opera music compared to other types of music at that point, and realized that opera singers are far and away the best singers in the world. The way that I was able to figure this out was by comparing my experiences at the opera with recordings of opera, and comparing opera to other genres of music that I have heard live and recorded.
Opera singers certainly enjoy what they are doing, but I think they go into it knowing that a career in opera is what they want, whereas a rock artist or country singer would probably love to make a living as a musician in a band, but their happiness does not necessarily depend on that happening. Whatever the reason, I do still believe that opera music produces the best singers.

One of the most important elements in any wedding is the selection of music. This can entail not only choosing an appropriate band or D.J. for the reception but also any pre-recorded tracks you might want to play during band breaks or for special dances like waltzes and/or ethnic music dances.
Many couples these days also have a soloist or a string quartet at the actual ceremony if they can afford it. A soloist in these situations is usually a violinist or whoever is playing the church organ or piano. A string quartet can provide wedding music at the chapel or church but the cost could be prohibitive for young couples on a budget. Many higher tier weddings these days feature vocal ensembles singing a mixture of classical and light, romantic pop favorites that the couple chooses.
Choosing a band for your wedding music is incredibly important and the right choice will do a lot to determine whether the reception is memorable or not. A dull band or one that is too loud or just plain not very good can ruin that special day. You definitely want to choose a band with experience that will make people come out on the floor and dance. The front person has to be a great communicator and really connect with the reception guests. The best wedding music bands have a very dynamic singer or two that can really connect with the crowd and get everyone up and moving. The more dancing that there is will mean a more memorable and enjoyable an event for your guests. You can find great wedding music soloists, bands, and D.J.s at www.gigmasters.com. For a small fee you can go online and see dozens of great artists in your area who will bid on your wedding.
A great D.J. can also make for a wonderful reception and is usually much more affordable and definitely more versatile than a band since the selection of music is always a lot greater in sheer volume of songs. A young couple can also select songs that they want to hear and can actually pre-plan the entire evening’s worth of music for their reception, though it is not recommended. You want the D.J. to feel that he is also instrumental in picking the wedding music for that special day. If you collaborate with him or her you can get an exciting array of wedding music that will put your personal stamp on it as well as the D.J.’s.
Soloists are another matter and you can also find those at www.gigmasters.com. Pick an instrument that you love to hear first. If you don’t like violins you can hire a piano or guitar musician to softly entertain wedding guests at the chapel or church ceremony or on the steps of the courthouse.
Whichever type of wedding music that you choose, make sure that it is perfect because this is one event that you will want to remember for the rest of your life. You want your guests to be gushing over what a great time they had at your reception.

I have posted a new article on my surround sound guidance web site.
The article has important facts you need to know about surround sound systems.
Surround sound systems have a reputation of being difficult to assemble. While the initial setup is a matter of plugging wires into the right areas, then tweaking the speakers’ settings to ensure they’re accurate, the issue of figuring out how to spread the speakers throughout the room can be tricky. This is largely because this results in wires sprawled out all over the room. Not only is this messy and unattractive, but you may accidentally trip on them too. Fortunately, there are many different ways to tame your wires, such as tying them away with tape or wire ties.
If you want to learn more about home surround sound theater, please visit my site and read the article.

Most programs out there teach you how to use various traffic sources to promote products as an affiliate for “ClickBank” or “CPA” marketing offers. Well, the beauty of Media Buying it doesn’t matter what kind of marketing you want to do, there really is no to what you can effectively promote. You could promote gambling offers, dating offers, or any product/service with an affiliate program!
In fact, aside from random blogs having snippets of information about Media Buys, I’ve only seen a few training forums, but they tend to be pretty pretty expensive. However, it would take you a LOT of time sifting through forums and blogs to get valuable information about Media Buying. One of the best places to see concerts is at Phillips Arena in Atlanta Georiga. Sports teams that reside there are the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers and the Atlanta Dream. Completed in 1999 the arena has 92 luxury seats and 18,666 club seats and is among the top 100 of worldwide Arena Venues according to Pollstar magazine.
More importantly this arena has housed the who’s who of rock and roll. Name a band, they’ve played there. Even the Rolling Stones amps have been wide open in Phillips Arena.
One of the most memorable is 17 sold out shows by Wide Spread Panic. Yes, I said 17 sold out shows. If you’re in show business that’s winning the superbowl and then some.
Bon Jovi Concert Tickets in Atlanta are on sell now for a sure to be sold out show. It’s one concert on their 2 year, 30 country tour. Be sure to check out Atlanta Concert Tickets website for other fine shows that will be in the Atlanta area.

Online guitar lessons are a great way to learn guitar. Cheaper and more convenient than private studio lessons, the technology is now at a point where the difference in quality is nonexistent and actually has many advantages.
Many guitar instructors are limited to a certain style. With the better online courses the styles and musical genres are practically unlimited. There is no boredom factor involved either. Many students quit guitar lessons if their teacher doesn’t know the songs, artists or type of music they like. The top courses cover all the bases. If you don’t like certain musical styles, don’t play them and go on to something else more interesting.

When I was first starting out as a local musician, I never thought that it was important to copyright my music. I always assumed that music copyrights were for the big, corporate artists who had signed to major labels. Why would someone small like me require a music copyright? If anything, I wanted my songs to be copied and shared.
Can save you a lot of hassle
The important thing about music copyrights is that they allow you to establish ownership of the song. Otherwise, it is difficult to prove that you wrote a song if someone wants to rip it off. This is exactly what happened to me. Because I had no music copyrights, when one of my songs was stolen it was impossible for me to prove it.
General Public License Copyright
Even if you want people to be able to share your songs, it is still a good idea for you to research music copyright laws. There is a thing called the general public license copyright which is perfect if you want to show authorship without limiting people’s access to your music. It allows people to freely copy, trade, and modify your song as long as they give you credit for it.
Protect yourself
Nothing is more crushing to an artist than to have his or her work stolen, after putting all the effort in to having their music recorded. Do what you can to protect yourself against it!

Have you ever thought about buying and playing a used “vintage” mandolin? No matter what you call it, vintage mandolins can be a lot of fun to play because they have history. Musical instruments have been prized by their owners throughout history and many have been passed down to generations.
My grandfather gave his accordion to a friend from church, for example, and it always reminds me of my grandfather to see this friend play his accordion.
You do have to be careful when looking for vintage mandolins for sale. They can certainly suffer wear and tear and other damage through the years. Warping, finish peeling, and brittle strings can be some of the common problems. Make sure you get full disclosure before you buy,or you may find out your vintage mandolin makes a better decoration than it does a musical instrument.

If you’re thinking about getting guitar lessons for kids, either as a birthday present, Christmas present, or just because it’s a good thing for them to get a little exposure to music, think about what impact their practicing may have on your family life. Playing the guitar is a fun hobby, but guitars can be loud and noisy. The last thing you want is your son cranking up his guitar amp at 3 in the morning and wailing away while the neighbors (and you!) are trying to sleep.
Even practice sessions during the day can be disruptive to other people trying to watch TV, read, or do homework.
If your kids want to play guitar inside the house, make sure you have rules and designated practice areas or times. This will help keep them accountable to their practicing, and minimize the disruption provided by the guitar playing.

Have you ever thought about playing classical music on your guitar? There are many popular types of music – Spanish classical guitar music is one of my favorite varieties. But you can also play traditional Beethoven or Mozart tunes on the guitar – just don’t expect it to sound exactly the same as it does when you’re listening to the orchestra.
To my mind, classical guitar sounds best on the acoustic guitar. It’s the type of guitar that would have been in use for the last several hundreds of years (or at least closer to those variants) and it has a traditional sound to it that I think the electric guitar specifically tries to avoid.
Of course there is always room for musical creativity, but sometimes it’s best to stick with the classics.

Playing a guitar is a lot of fun. If you have taken guitar lessons, or if you just like to crank up your guitar amp and wail away on your electric guitar, there’s no doubt that it can be a real release to play some music and engage a different part of your brain after a long, tiring or boring day.
What kind of guitar music do you like to play? 80’s pop music like Michael Jackson (my all time favorite) or Madonna? It’s fun to be able to sing along. There’s also death metal music – not my cup of tea, but certainly good for working out your kinks.
Each type of guitar music requires a different style of play. If you are taking guitar lessons, be sure your teacher is familiar with the type of music you are most interested in so you can learn from the best!

Though there are some that start out with the bass guitar, many more play it after having played another instruments, most notably the electric guitar. In many of these cases, a bass guitar player was needed, and instead of finding someone new, someone who has already played guitar can be moved to bass rather easily. Some guitar players might see this as a demotion, but for many who end up on bass, they don’t see it that way at all. They may have felt that they were just an average guitar player, and would rather learn to play play bass guitar.
