Young Artists Competition wins you Unusual Musical Scholarships

There are some unusual music scholarships from the Flint Institute of Music. They are called The William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition and they are held annually here in honor of William C. Byrd who was a gifted musician and served as the director of the Flint Institute of Music and conductor of the Flint Symphony Orchestra from 1966 to 1974. The winner gets a contract to perform with the Flint Symphony Orchestra. The music scholarships from this music competition is from 1000 to 6000USD. The biggest prize is to actually perform with the Symphony. This is what the first place prize is and this will be a life changing experience indeed. The judging will take place by a jury of three distinguished musicians who have already left his/her mark on the Symphony.
