Mother Of The Groom Refers To Mother of The Bride For Wedding Attire

In traditional wedding etiquette with regard to dress, the mother of the groom defers to the mother of the bride, relative to styles, cuts and colors. For example, if the bride’s Mom chooses a nice pale blue wool suit in a classic cut, you’ll want to choose something in a similar style, without looking like a duplicate. In other words, maybe a peach linen suit might work well. Similarly, if the mother of the bride opts for a long formal dress, coordinate your choice from selections of long dresses of approximately the same formality. If the bridesmaids are wearing different pastel shades of the same cut of dress, try to avoid matching your mother of groom dress to these colors. A deeper shade may be your best bet.
