Few Modern Poem Books Available
August 26th, 2008This is strange to anyone who knows me. Most of my friend assume that I have been reading poems books since I was very little. You see, I have always had a very lyrical sense of language, and have a great love of literature. Nonetheless, when I was growing up, I thought I hated poetry. It was all old-fashioned, archaic, pretentious, and grandiose. None of it spoke to modern issues, or so I thought. I didn’t realize how wrong I was until I picked up a few modern poems books. By then, I had missed out on years of enjoying poetry. This is why I think it is so important for parents to teach poetry to their kids.
