Insurance Choices – Third-Party vs. Comprehensive Coverage

June 7th, 2006

Policyholders receive some degree of coverage with third-party insurance. Third-party insurance offers protection in cases where fire occurs. Many insurance firms impose additional fees when they offer coverage. Comprehensive coverage is a full coverage policy that protects individuals against personal injury, accidents, fire, theft, etc. Such policies will completely cover vehicles and any injuries or damages incurred in cases where property loss or damages happen. Comprehensive indemnity coverage will apply if another party has caused damaged to the insured’s car, and it will cover damage to a windshield that occurs as a result of fires, accidents, or theft. Most automobile insurance firms will not cover mechanical or electrical problems. In general, third-party coverage provides less protection than comprehensive plans. For individuals with older cars, it may not be worth the cost to purchase total coverage. Vehicles should not be driven until they are covered by active insurance policies
